New Tensor Interactions and the KL-KS Mass Difference

The minimal standard electroweak model yields approximately half the observed value of the KL-KS mass difference. Antisymmetric tensor fields incorporated into the standard model can provide the rest 0.5×(∆mLS)exp. The effective lepton–lepton, quark–lepton and quark–quark tensor interactions induced by the charged tensor particles are presented. Submitted to “Phys. Lett. B” E-mail: physfac2@bge...

K → ππ, KL-KS mass difference and the Dalitz decays of KL ∗

K → ππ, KL-KS mass difference, KL → γγ and the Dalitz decays of KL are studied systematically by assuming that their amplitude can be described in terms of a sum of short distance and long distance contributions. Dominance of the short distance effect on the KL-KS mass difference will be checked by the Dalitz decays of KL in a way consistent with the K → ππ and KL → γγ decays.

A Measurement of the Kl-ks Mass Difference from the Charge Asymmetry in Semi-leptonic Kaon Decays

Introduction. The experiment reported in this paper is part of an extensive study aiming principally at a more precise determination of #+_ , the phase of q+_ , the parameter describing CP-violation in K” + 7~+trdecays. New values of K” + n+ndecay parameters have been reported previously [ 1 ] . The data on semi-leptonic kaon decays recorded simultaneously and in the same apparatus as the pioni...

PRECISE DETERMINATION OF THE Kl - K ~ MASS DIFFERENCE BY THE GAP METHOD

The Xl;, Es mass difference, Dm —= (Mz-Ms)c /h, has been redetermined in a highstatistics experiment performed at the zero-gradient synchrotron of Argonne National Laboratory, using the "gap method" originally developed at Princeton. Two independent measurements, using B4C and Cu, respectively, as regenerators, were performed and gave consistent results. Their mean is Am = (0.542+0.006) x 10 0 ...
